My approach to bodywork in general is to facilitate the recipient’s innate capacity to heal through deep relaxation – letting go – and thus homoeostasis. A session on the table, or on the futon may include varied soft tissue, rhythmic, rocking techniques to reconnect disassociated parts of the whole through the autonomic nervous system, along with dynamic stretches, meridian pressure points, and deep tissue manipulation where appropriate.

Many disciplines may be intuitively drawn upon to facilitate relaxation and healing in a session including Feldenkreis, Body-mind Centering, Zero Balancing, Craniosacral and other integrated therapies.

I also teach Qi Gung exercises and meditation practice.

As a practitioner of both Eastern and Western approaches to bodywork, I have developed skills working with a recipient fully clothed on a futon mat on the floor (eastern styles)  as well as integrated traditional massage on the table (western styles). I have an extensive background in European Zen Shiatsu and Thai Massage (England, Japan and Thailand), along with many years of massage and bodywork training at the Esalen Institute in Big Sur, California.

Along side Esalen, I worked many years as a practitioner at the exclusive Post Ranch Inn and Ventana Inn in Big Sur, amongst others.

Please drop me a line or give me a call for any more information, or if you’d like, go ahead and schedule a session. Thank you!
